Chapter 3 Heritability

Based on my knowledge and understanding, "some trait is highly heritable" mean that some trait can be more attributable to the genetic factors rather than environment factors. For example, let's say that IQ is highly heritable, this statement says that the difference in intelligence can be more accounted to the genetics factors. In the flute case, I think you should not stop practicing. Just because someone tells you that musical ability is heritable, does not mean that it is 100% affected by the genetic factors only. Even highly heritable traits like musical ability can be modified by the environment. In this case, the environment such as practicing can help you improve your musical ability.

Chapter 2 The "Cheating" Survey

I don't think we can justify the assumption that the sample represents all the married Canadian women since the survey only taken by the female readers of that particular magazine, we do not even know the amount of people that have taken the survey and they are more likely fell in same category. For example, most of the female readers of the magazine might be around 25 - 35 years old which clearly does not represent all married Canadian women. The result are more likely biased based on that. I personally think it is relevant in the sense that they are trying to get more users by funding this survey. It may sound unethical, but I think that might be the way to market the online dating service. In my opinion, the title should be "cheating survey based on the reader of this magazine".
